How would our children feel if we brought the realities of the gender pay gap to household chores?
To bring the financial equality conversation to an everyday level, ANZ launched the Pocket Money Social Experiment, focusing on the simple innate belief of kids in the concept of equal distribution, a concept adults too often fail to comprehend.

Sending a documentary maker into the homes of families and asking brothers and sisters to do chores around the house, we then paid the girls less than the boys “just like in the real world” and captured their incredulous, 100% unscripted reactions, in a 90 second video.

With over 12million video views in the first six weeks, Pocket Money reached a social media audience of 1.5 billion and generated an earned media value of over $38m.
